من نحن؟

كراس هي مجموعة تعمل على جمع، إصدار ونشر معارف كويرية ونسوية في قضايا الجندر والجنسانية۔‎
عملنا يرتكز بالأخص في الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا، في ظل التعاون مع حلفاء ضمن العالم الجنوبي۔‎
أفراد كراس يحملون تاريخ حافل وغني بالمشاركة في القضايا المدنية بالإضافة إلى امتلاكهم سلسلة مهارات وخبرات، تهدف إلى الرد الجماعي في الشؤون السياسة، الاقتصادية والاجتماعية۔‎

Who are we?

Qorras is a group working on collecting, producing and disseminating queer feminist knowledge on issues of gender and sexuality. Our work focuses primarily on the Levant and MENA region, while collaborating and networking with allies and peers across the Global South. The members of Qorras bring together a rich history of involvement and engagement in civil movements, as well as a wide set of skills and expertise, with the aim to respond collectively to our political, economic and social conditions.

المناظرة من الداخل: في كراس، نبني عملنا على معارفنا الشخصية وغير الموضوعية لوقائعنا۔‎ تهدف كراس إلى وضع سياق لهذه المعارف من خلال النظر إليها كأداة في مقابل التركيبات ذات القوة التي تعمل في كافة المجالات وايضاً ترابط هذه المعارف بالقضايا والسياقات المناسبة۔‎

Theorize from the bottom: We base our work on our personal and subjective knowledge of our realities. Qorras aims to contextualize this knowledge by reading it against power structures operating at various levels and by intersecting it with relevant issues and contexts.

بناء العمل على أعمال الآخرين: تهدف كراس إلى مدح المعارف والاشغال الموجودة، وتفاني تكرار العمل۔‎ نعمل على ذلك من خلال الانطلاق بالأصل من هذه المعارف والخبرات المنبعثة من المجتمع المدني، الجمعيات والمبادرات الشعبية، المحلية والإقليمية۔‎

Build on the work of others: Qorras aims to complement existing knowledge and work, and to avoid duplicating labor. We do so by using as a starting point the expertise and knowledge produced by civil society, associations and grassroots initiatives, locally and in the region.

 عمليات التوثيق: تهدف كراس إلى جعل خبراتها وأدواتها متاحة ليكتسب منها جميع الأفراد۔‎ هذا يتضمن تغيير التركيز على المنتج النهائي ليصبح على العمل الجماعي وطرق الإنتاج التي تجعل هكذا أعمال موجودة۔‎

Document processes: Qorras aims to make available its experience and the tools at its disposal for others to learn from. This includes shifting attention from the final outcome and onto the collective processes and methods of production that make them possible.

النشر الإبداعي: تهدف كراس لنشر أعمال ذو طابع مهني وأخلاقي ذات جودة عالية۔‎ مع ذلك، نهدف أن يكون عملنا متاح للجميع وملفت للانتباه۔‎ لذلك، نستكشف طرق ووسائل غير تقليدية وأساليب ومنصات للعمل على هذا الهدف۔

Disseminate creatively: Qorras aims to publish work that is professional, ethical, and of high quality. However, we aim for our work to be accessible and interesting. For this reason, we explore unconventional tools, approaches, platforms, and media to work towards this goal.

خدمة مجتمعاتنا: في كراس، نؤمن بشدة أن تفعيل اعمالنا في مجتمعاتنا ضروري لخلق معرفة مناسبة ومؤثرة۔‎ تهدف كراس إلى تصميم وصياغة أساليب لخلق معارف جماعية التي تقرب وجهات النظر بين حقائق وسياسات وتأييد مجتمعاتنا وبين تأييدنا وسياستنا۔‎

Serve its communities: We strongly believe that anchoring our work in our communities is necessary for producing relevant and impactful knowledge. Qorras aims to design and implement methods for collective knowledge production that bridge the gap between the lived realities of our communities, advocacy, and policy.

Based on all these principles, Qorras operates the following projects

الأعمال إلى اليوم

بدأت كراس في أوائل ٢٠١٤۔‎
الاجتماع التأسيسي انعقد في كانون الثاني ٢٠١٨۔‎
المجموعة في صدى التسجيل القانوني في لبنان۔‎
كراس حالياً تشغل على قواعد تطوعية، تعمل بدعم مالي محدود (٤٠٠٠ $) من صندوق فريدا النسوي۔‎

Our WORK SO FAR

Qorras was conceived in early 2014. The founding meeting was held in January 2017. The group is currently in the process of registering legally in Lebanon.
Qorras is currently run on a voluntary basis, operating with a
seed-fund ($4000) from Frida Feminist Fund.
